Caterpillar is starting to really focus. He lifts his hands, clenches them tight, and stares. Not the baby, glossed over look, but he focuses. He concentrates. I wonder what he’s thinking.
February is typically a vey busy month for us. Hence the lack of blog posts. We have Brooklyns birthday, Valentines Day, and our anniversary. To top it all off, we cram all of those things into the shortest month of the year. Poor planning on my part.
This year has felt especially busy. I think we are still playing catch up from when I was on bed rest, and I feel like I am starting to enter a new season of life. I can feel me changing. A good change, but a change none the less.
We joined a gym. We’ve only gone once, but I loved it. We just got our membership a few days ago, so I am happy we’ve taken the first step. The facility is beautiful and pretty much takes away all of the excuses I can come up with on why I don’t work out. So, I’m going to do it. I am going to focus, and get in shape.
We changed churches. We are really starting to feel at home at Plum Creek Community Church and already feel very connected to the friends we’ve made. Speaking of friendships…
We’ve also reconnected with some of Daddy’s old friends. He’s had the same friends since he was five years old. And, we may be in different seasons of life, but we’ve come to see the value in that kind of history. We really enjoyed their company at New Years, and invited them all over for the Superbowl.
As you can see, this has made Daddy happy.
I, on the other hand, have reconnected with some of my old friends on Facebook, but for the most part I’d like to leave the past where it is – in the past. I have however felt a very strong connection with a family from our church. They were actually attending The Rock, and left to find a deeper connection with people in the same season of life. Sound familiar?
They have three girls, and Monkey loves spending time with them. They were able to make Monkeys Birthday party, and I know they added a lot of fun to her day.
Okay. So maybe not in this picture. But they do have fun together.
We have hit some bumps in the road with our family, as families often do. I was really down about it for a while, but the more I prayed about it, the more this image popped into my head:
So, I keep praying. Keep connecting. And keep focusing. Because one day, I will be able to see more than just the fist in front of my face. I will then understand what He is thinking.
