Most of our weekends are kicked off (pun intended) with soccer.  Monkey is learning to play the sweeper position, and it’s a lot of fun to watch her.  There’s a lot less running in that position, so it suits her just fine.

Last weekend was no exception.  After soccer, I had a session, then my sister had a housewarming party. On our way to drop the kiddos at my dads house, we came across these:

Can I just say, I love living in Colorado?  I mean the deer are cool, but that sunset!

It’s common here, but something I don’t think I could ever get used to.

Sorry about the blurry picture – I only had my 50mm on me, which doesn’t work for long distance.

Anyway, we were off to my sisters house.  Have you met her?

Jules, blogosphere.

Blogosphere, Jules.

Now that introductions have been made, I am sure she feels close enough to all of you that I can share a few things about her.  Like the fact that she’s my baby sister.  I’ve got 7 years on her.

Or the fact that she’s single.  So, if you like it then you’d better put a ring on it.

I even think she’d let me share that she’s one of Monkey’s favorite people.  Aunt J visiting is a very fun thing in our house.

But, I digress.

After said housewarming party, the kids spent the night at my dads house.  We picked them up early Sunday with the intention of heading to church, but upon arrival we found out Caterpillar had a bad night.  Grandma Sue and Caterpillar were up all night, and he was not happy about how his morning was going.  So, we came home and allowed him to get some much needed rest.

Then we were off to swim lessons with the swim whisperer.

We haven’t done swim lessons since last summer, and Monkey was no where near water safe.  This does not work for a mama with an 18 month old in tow.  Hence, the hiring of the swim whisperer.  Actually, we grew up in the same neighborhood, and her name is Frannie, but in less than a half hour she convinced Monkey to try this:

So, she really is the swim whisperer.

After swim we headed home and threw Monkey into mommy’s time out a bath.  It wasn’t long before she was happily playing with her imagination and whatever odd ball toys were left behind after the last bath.  Then, suddenly, I realized it was quiet.  And in our house, quiet is never good.

So, I snuck in to investigate, and found this:

Hmmm.  I started clicking.

Now, let’s take a minute before continuing.  If I had just woken up to find the mommyrazzi clicking away while I was in the tub I *might* jump out of the tub to grab the camera and delete, delete, delete.

Nope.  She’s okay with it.

Just goes to show how little my antics influence my children.

Once we got her out and got her dried off, we realized it had been a long weekend for us all.  We needed to rest.

Instead we got the plague stomach flu.  A week later, I came back from the dead and wrote this little blog posting.

Now that’s love.
