When we moved into our house, it was new construction. A clean slate.
Sounds fun, right?
Well, it was!
And I’d do it again, but I must admit all of those years of art school that Daddy went to didn’t always pay off (read: I am WAY better at picking wall color!). The one thing that Daddy says over and over again when considering wall decor is “When you think it’s too big, it’s perfect”.
And he is right.
Think about it … most art you hang on the wall you will walk by without even noticing in about a week. But, when you hang something up that looks just a touch too big, in about a week you will love it just the way it is!
Back to the wall color – same thing applies. Those who know me know my walls are saturated in color. Not because we are covering anything up, but because we love it, and still get tons of compliments on it when we have new guests. So don’t be afraid – go for the color, then go for some big beautiful prints!
Check out what Amy of Amy Ro photography had to say about all of this, and then let me know what you think!
Don’t forget after you are done reading her post to come back and order all of the extra large prints that you’ve been considering. I promise, you won’t regret it!

So we had someone tell us at at MOPS meeting that same thing. Go big or go home!!
Rachel – I forgot you were in MOPS! Was that at the church you were at before Journey?
I was thinking of you when I was writing this post (and when I posted the sale on the FB page … hint, hint).
I can’t wait until you order your prints ~ so excited to see your beautiful kiddos on paper! 🙂

Uggh wall color!!! I’m the type of decorator who knows what I love (b/c of HGTV), but just can’t get it together. Mostly it’s the cost factor. Thank goodness that paint is one of the most inexpensive decorating aspects. I wished I had the knack of selecting colors and/or decorating though.
I wish I could paint but I don’t want to pay the apartment complex later. I do love that I hung 3 24×36 photos on my 16 foot wall and sometimes I do look at them and think they should be slightly larger.
